Working as a student photographer for

UT's Ranger magazine, I found myself chauffeuring Jerry Jeff and his friend, Jimmy Buffett, around Austin while his pickup was in the shop, on our way to Jerry Jeff's new home in the west Austin hills.

 

Forty-five years later, when I ran across this image of the two troubadours looking out from a rock wall by the pool, I detected a spidery fungus crawling across the negative’s sky. In the spirit of "Onward Through the Fog”, I added some colorful crackling, country cosmic rain.
